Results of the survey called “Let’s reduce excessive working hours campaign” have been released.
The survey was conducted across the 7,014 workplaces in question among which 4,711 were identified as violating Labor Standards Laws and Ordinances .
Here are some main violations:
(1) Violations of overtime and working on holidays: 2,773 companies (39.5%) Among those 2,733 companies;
1,756 (63.3%) had issues with “over 80 hours of excessive overtime” per month.
1,196 (43.1%) had issues with “over 100 hours of excessive overtime” per month.
257 (9.3%) had issues with “over 150 hours of excessive overtime” per month.
52 (1.9%) had issues with “over 200 hours of excessive overtime” per month.
(2) Among those companies which the government issued an instruction card for not sufficiently meeting health and safety working measures, 5,269 (75.15%) received administrative guidance for
imposing excessive overtime on employees to direct them to improve employees’ working health conditions.
Also, 3,299 (62.6 %) of 5,269 were asked to reduce overtime to be less than 80 hours per month.
